Economic Botany: Ethnobotany Kasi, Nusrat jahan [1], Mudassir Asrar Zaidi, Mudassir [2]. Screening of crude extract and analysis of mineral composition (Ca, Zn, Cu, Pb, Fe, Mg, and P2 O5) of medicinal plant Acropitilon repens (Asteraceae). The mountains of Balochistan are inhabited by a large variety of wild herbs and shrubs. Medicinally important plant Acropitilon repens of Balochistan, Pakistan was investigated for biological activities and mineral composition. The antibacterial and antifungal activities of this plant were determined against ten strains of bacteria and fungi by agar well diffusion and disk diffusion method. Phytotoxicity of methanolic extract of A. repens was tested by using the Lemna plant bioassay technique, Insecticidal activity of crude extract of plant was checked by 5 grain storage pests through contact method. The cytotoxicity was determined by Brine shrimp lethality bioassays. The ash content and inorganic elemental composition of plant was determined by atomic absorption spectrometer.A. repens shown significant sensitivity against Salmonella typhi. No activities were shown against other strains. Plant showed with 50 % inhibitory effect against Macrosporum canis. Only 10 % activity was shown against a common grain pest (Tribolium castaneun), the crude extract of Acropitilon repens also showed significant phytotoxicity against 65% growth of plant Lemna acqinoctialis at high dose of 500 µg/ml. A. repens showed greater toxicity and killed 20 % shrimps at 1000 µg/ml. Calcium(Ca) was found to be 0.55%, Zinc(Zn) 0.014%, lead (Pb) 0.014%, copper(Cu) 0.014%, Iron(Fe) 0.02%, Magnesium (Mg) 0.21%, phosphorous( P2O5) was found in trace.
