Conference Wide Lopez-Smith, Renee A. [1], Johnson, Gabriel [2]. What Works for Me: Transitioning into Graduate School. THIS informal session is designed to discuss the transition from undergraduate to graduate education in plant biology, from a graduate student’s perspective. Students and faculty from various levels of higher education will share their experiences about getting into graduate school and making it work. Topics to be discussed will include: how to choose a graduate school and advisor that’s right for you; research funding and financial aid; coping with stress and the personal challenges that accompany the grad school transition; the necessity of networking and establishing professional relationships; and the research environment including attending meetings and publishing.
